Charlotte Davis Named to 2nd Team All-Conference Elizabeth Dixon Named Honorable Mention
Charlotte Davis was named to the USA South Second Team
All-Conference, as announced by the conference office Tuesday
morning. Davis, a transfer from Wingate University, led the Peace
College Tennis Team this season with an 8-11 overall record, 4-3 in
the USA South. Davis started the year at #2 flight singles where
she was 4-2 overall. Due to injury Davis was forced to play #1
flight singles, where she finished the season at 4-9. Davis also
played #1 flight doubles and finished the season at 8-11. Davis, a
senior, was named the USA South Rookie of the Year her first year
at Peace. This is the third consecutive year in which Davis has
been named to the Second Team All-Conference. Davis was also named
to the Academic All-Conference Team in 2003-04 and 2004-05.
Elizabeth Dixon was named USA South Honorable Mention after a very
successful first year with the Pacers. Dixon was named USA South
Rookie of the Week on March sixth. Dixon, like Davis started the
season at the #5 flight singles slot where she started off at 3-1,
then moved into the #4 flight singles slot where she went 8-4.
Dixon finally finished her move up the rope at the #3 flight
singles where she finished the season at 1-3. Overall Dixon was
12-8, 5-2 in the USA South. In doubles, Dixon finished 7-11.
The Peace Pacers finished the season in 4th place with an overall
record of 7-11, 4-3 in the USA South. They will begin conference
tournament play on Thursday as they will take on # 5 seeded Ferrum
College at 9:00 am. in Burlington, NC.For more information on Peace
