Captains Proved Too Much for Peace

Newport News, VA -- The Captains of Christopher Newport (12-0, 3-0 USAS) won their twelfth straight match this season with a 9-0 shutout of visiting Peace (0-4, 0-2 USAS).

Kristen Starnes rallied in her second set at No. 1 singles to win four games but took the 6-0, 6-4 loss for the Pacers.  She and doubles partner Carol Ann Duke got on the board with two games at the top doubles spot.

First-year Whitney McMillan played her first competitive singles match for Peace at No. 6 but took a 6-0, 6-0 loss.

Duke picked up a game from her opponent at No. 4 to complete the wins for the Pacers in today's league loss.

Peace faces conference leader Methodist University home Tuesday at Ragland Courts.  Doubles matches are slated to begin at 3:30 pm.  See you on the sidelines!
