Peace Tennis Plays Well in Loss to Hornets

Raleigh, NC -- The Peace Pacers (0-6, 0-4 USAS) tennis squad lost today's league match 9-0 to USA South foe Shenandoah University (6-5, 3-3 USAS). No. 1 Kristen Starnes and No. 3 Haley Bright battled in singles play but fell short. Each took seven games in two sets from the Hornets.

Brittany Lynn and No. 2 doubles partner Elizabeth Burns picked up three games from Aliisa Altau and Brittany Bascope of SU. Lynn pushed Denise Myrick at No. 4 singles but took a 6-3, 6-1 loss.

Head Coach Kathy Jacobs and her team will celebrate seniors Bright and Lynn just before tomorrow's 1:00 pm match with Mary Baldwin College. The team hosts Ferrum College Monday, April 5, in the final home match of the 2010 regular season. See you on the sidelines!
