The Pride Tops Tennis; Tournament Pairings Set

Greensboro, NC -- The Peace Pacers (1-10, 1-8 USAS) tennis squad traveled to Greensboro College (7-9, 5-4 USAS) for today's final regular season match.  Senior Brittany Lynn took home the lone win for PC in the 8-1 loss to The Pride.

Lynn topped Elizabeth Adair 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.  With doubles partner Elizabeth Burns, the Pacers No. 2 team lost 8-1.

At the No. 1 spot, Kristen Starnes earned a game in each of her sets but took the overall loss.  Teammate and doubles partner Haley Bright picked up three games in her first set at No. 3 singles.  The doubles pair also won three games in the 8-3 loss at the top spot.

Carol Ann Duke earned a game in each of her sets but also took the loss at No. 5.  Naomi King lost her match at No. 6 to The Pride's Rachel Brown.

Peace completed the regular season ranked ninth in the USA South.  This finish paired the team with #8 ranked Mary Baldwin (2-11, 2-7 USAS).  The two teams meet in Staunton, Virginia, Tuesday, April 13, in the opening round of the league tournament beginning at 3:00 pm.  See you on the sidelines!
