Tennis Wraps Up Season with Loss to Mary Baldwin
Staunton, VA -- The Peace Pacers tennis team completed a solid season with an 8-1 loss to Mary Baldwin College. The Fighting Squirrels advance to the quarterfinals of the USA South conferecen tournament with the win.
Senior Haley Bright was the lone winner for the Pacers with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles. No. 3 Brittany Lynn fought back from a 6-4 first set loss to force a deciding set. Lynn took the second 6-1 but lost 12-10 in the tiebreaker.
Playing No. 1 today, Elizabeth Burns battled back from a 6-0 loss in the first set to take four games in her second.
First-year Whitney McMillan notched three games in her 6-1, 6-2 loss at No. 6 singles.
No. 2 doubles pair Burns and Lynn picked up two games in their loss. Casey Hardin and McMillan lost 8-2 at No. 3.
This marks the end of the 2010 tennis season, the first for Head Coach and Peace alumna Kathy Jacobs. See you on the sidelines next year!
