Peace Volleyball Selected To Finish Seventh In USA South Preseason Poll

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The USA South released is preseason volleyball poll on Wednesday. The Peace College volleyball team, in their fourth year of conference affiliation, was picked seventh with 13 total points. Peace finished the 2005-06 season with an overall record of 13-20, 6-8 in the USA South for a fourth place finish.

Christopher Newport University was chosen first in the poll with seven first place votes and 49 points. The Captains, 32-6 overall and 13-1 in the conference, shared the regular season title in 2005-06 with Greensboro College and went on to capture the tournament championship defeating Greensboro 3-2 in the championship match. Greensboro College was voted to finish second with one first place vote and 42 points.

Peace will begin the 2006-07 season at home on Friday, September 1st, taking on Elizabeth City State University at 1:30 pm and Salem College at 5:30 pm.
