Pacer Volleyball Splits
Raleigh, NC-The Pacer volleyball squad finished day-one of the Meredith Matchup 2009 1-2 with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-19) loss early in the day to the NAIA's Brenau University followed by a 3-set (25-15, 25-11, 25-12) win over Georgia's Agnes Scott College. Brenau completed the day 3-0 and Agnes Scott dropped to 0-3 overall.

Up by just one at 14-13, Brenau took control of the opening set with two five-point runs to close 25-17. Sets two and three followed in much the same manner. In the nightcap Peace completed a somewhat sloppy victory over the Scotties of Agnes. Leah Chandler (Chapel Hill, NC) and Megan Melchiorre (Durham, NC) led all with a combined 13 kills on 24 attempts. Setter Olivia Griffin (High Point, NC) earned 12 assists and three service aces to lead her team. Defensive specialist Lynnette Monroe (Raleigh, NC) led with seven digs in the win.
