Fayetteville, NC-The USA South Athletic Conference office announced today this year's end-of-season honors for volleyball, and Peace College earned its first all-conference nod since 2005. The No. 6 Pacers (13-19, 8-10 USAS) completed the 2009 season with a 3-1 tournament loss to No. 3 Averett University in Danville, Virginia, last night.
Senior middle Elizabeth Evanoff (Manns Harbor, NC) earned placement on the all-conference honorable mention team for her production on the court. She led the Pacers hitting .219, including 186 kills in 565 total attempts. Evanoff notched the leading service percentage (.985) with only five errors in 385 attempts. Her name peppers the Peace College records with her tremendous blocking efforts, including 30 solo blocks and 53 block assists this season.
For the second consecutive season, outside hitter Amber Lowe (Cedar Grove, NC) was named to the USA South's all-sportsmanship team. Her competitive spirit, work ethic, and positive behavior make her a top candidate for this honor. Lowe led Peace with 283 kills this season and sits atop the college's record book with total attack attempts during the past two years, including 995 in 2009. She also led with 415 digs on the season.
