2010 Pacer Volleyball Schedule Available
Raleigh, N.C. - Head Coach Kevin Daniels enters his second season with the Peace College volleyball program this fall and hopes to improve upon a sixth-place regular season finish in 2009 (13-19, 8-10 USAS).
The team opens a 30-match season hosting Bennett College Tuesday, September 7, at 7:00 pm. The Belle's are slated to start the new sport this fall.
Peace joins Guilford, Randolph-Macon, and Piedmont in Greensboro College's Volleyball Invitational September 10-11 in Hanes Gym. The Pacers are scheduled to face the Quakers at 4:00 pm Friday evening followed by RMC at 8:00 pm. Saturday's schedule pairs PC with the Piedmont Lions at 2:00 pm, closing with the host team at 6:00 pm.
Other non-league matches include a home-away series with Salem College on September 16 in Hermann Gym and October 19 in Winston-Salem. The Pacers travel to Charlotte to face the new varsity team at Johnson & Wales University September 30.
USA South action begins at Averett University September 15. The first home conference match is scheduled with Meredith College at 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 28. The rivals split last year's series.
The Pacers host two all-day conference play dates this fall beginning with a tri-match October 16 with Shenandoah and N.C. Wesleyan. Peace hosts Christopher Newport, the 2009 league champs, along with Ferrum in the October 23 quad-match in Hermann Gym. Meredith will face both CNU and FC in the second and third matches. The first serve is slated for 12:00 pm each day.
PC closes the regular season on October 27 at Meredith and October 30 at Methodist's USA South tri-match with Mary Baldwin. Conference tournament pairings and sites will be determined with regular season standings. See you on the sidelines!
