Pacers earn split in Greensboro Invitational

Greensboro, N.C. – Peace College avenged last weekend's loss to Guilford College in the Cougar Classic with a 3-1 (25-16, 19-25, 25-23, 25-19) victory on Saturday to finish 2-2 in this weekend's Greensboro Invitational, which was held at Haynes Gym on the campus of Greensboro College.

Taylor Johnson, who made the All-Tournament team, had 12 kills, which tied Amber Lowe for the team lead.  Olivia Griffin led Peace with eight aces and Lauren Naugle chipped in with six more.  Naugle also led the Pacers with 16 digs, while Brooke Norris had 14 and Griffin added 10.

Earlier in the day Peace dropped a 3-2 (23-25, 25-27, 25-20, 25-20, 15-13) decision to the host Greensboro Pride.  On Friday the Pacers  lost their opening match to Piedmont 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-17) but rebounded to down Roanoke, 3-2 (23-25, 25-27, 25-20, 25-20, 15-13).

The Pacers (3-6) return to action Wednesday night as they host the Averett Cougars at 7:00 PM.  It's the conference opener for Peace and marks the first of seven straight conference games for the Pacers.
