Fayetteville, N.C. – The Peace Volleyball team split its two games in a tri-match in Fayetteville on Sunday. The Pacers opened up with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-11, 25-17) win over Mary Baldwin in the opener and dropped a five-set contest (20-25, 2522, 25-23, 23-25, 9-15) to the host Methodist Monarchs.

Taylor Johnson and Crystal Alston led Peace in the opener with nine kills apiece.  Johnson also added an ace and three blocks (1 solo, 2 assists) while Alston closed out the first and third set with kills.

In the second match, the Pacers held a 2-1 lead and rallied back from a 23-19 deficit in the fourth set to forge a 23-23 tie.  But the Monarchs were able to close out the set.  In the deciding period, Methodist jumped out to a 13-6 lead and cruised to the victory.

Peace (6-9) returns to action Wednesday with a road conference match against city rival Meredith on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM.
