Kevin Daniels joined the Pacer athletics staff in March 2009 and
will lead his second team this fall. With the support of an NCAA
grant, Daniels' took on the additional role as coordinator for
student-athlete success last August. He supervisors the college's
efforts in the NCAA student-athlete affairs division in addition to
supporting academic success for the Pacers.
Before coming to Peace, Daniels spent one season in Las Vegas,
Nevada, as an assistant volleyball coach with the University of
Nevada at Las Vegas. He owned, PlyoCity in Las Vegas and served as
a personal trainer.
Prior to the year in Nevada, Daniels lived and worked in Goldsboro.
Daniels helped build the Wayne Area Volleyball Enthusiasts club and
coached six players during his four-year tenure who went on to play
collegiate volleyball. He also worked as the sports and wellness
director of the Goldsboro Family YMCA. He helped increase
membership enrollment, recruited and trained volunteer staff for
the youth sports teams, and managed the fitness space at the
YMCA.
Daniels served as the head coach for the Carolina Region high
performance volleyball national team from 2006-2008 and continues
to coach players at this level. He coached numerous volleyball
camps and clinics in the state and spent one season with the
Eastern Wayne High School program that completed its most
successful season in school history with 22 wins.
Daniels spent four years in the United States Air Force Security
Forces before entering college. He earned a Bachelor of Science
degree in recreation and exercise science from Mount Olive College.
He played two seasons as an outfielder for the Trojans baseball
team after completing one season at Lenoir Community College. After
graduation in 2006, Daniels remained at Mount Olive as an
admissions counselor and served as the liaison to the athletics
department.
Daniels and his wife Amy have a daughter, Sydney, and newborn
son. Amy continues her active service with the Air Force in
Virginia.
