Peace Runners Compete in Festival

Cary, NC-The Peace College cross country squad competed in today's university/college women's 5K open as part of the Great American Cross Country Festival.  The premiere race was held at this same course from 2003-2005 before moving to Alabama and attracts more than 2000 collegiate and high school runners annually.

Senior member Kim Zullo (Greenville, NC) once again held a strong lead for the Pacers.  She finished 58 of 119 runners with a time of 20:30 in the 5K race, her fastest 5K time to date.

Following in her traditional second spot, Lupe Rostro (Angier, NC) recorded a time of 22:16 for Peace good for 87.  Teammate Allison Gilmore (Raleigh, NC) completed the challenging course at 25:06.

First time Pacer Kathryn Gilbert rounded out the Pacer team finishing in 29:46 for an improved time by more than one minute.  Tiffany Noble began the race but did not finish due to injury.

Peace travels to Greensboro, NC Saturday, October 17, for Guilford College's Quaker Invitational.  The women's race is slated to begin at 9:00 am.  See you on the sidelines!
