USA South Cross Country Honors Announced
Fayetteville, NC-The USA South Athletic Conference office announced recipients of this year's Runner and Rookie of the Year awards, as well as Coach of the Year. The women's conference championship meet is slated for 11:00 am Saturday, October 31, at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro. The top 15 finishers at the championship meet will be named to the all-conference team.
Sophomore runner Allison Gilmore (Raleigh, NC) represented her team on the USA South's cross country all-sportsmanship team. Gilmore's experience and leadership as a returning member from the 2008 squad make her likely candidate for this honor.
Methodist's Kristyn Zeiler earned top billing as the Runner of the Year for her speed and placements this year. Rookie of the Year was awarded to Shenandoah's Roni Frye, and her coach Andrew Marrocco received recognition as the conference Coach of the Year for both women's and men's cross country.
