Beverly Lineberger enters her second season this fall as Head Volleyball Coach for the Pacers. The 2007-2008 season included a USA South Rookie of the Week and the conference Volleyball Sportsmanship Award. The team returned from Gallaudet University (Washington, DC) in October 2007 with a second-place finish and All-Tournament Team member. With ten seasoned returners and a sharp recruiting class, the Pacers look to move up the tough conference rankings during 2008.

Prior to Peace, Lineberger coached both volleyball and softball at Apex High School in Apex, NC. During her nine-year tenure as head volleyball coach for the Cougars, Lineberger led Apex to seven Tri-Seven Conference Championships and eight state playoff appearances. Her 2001 and 2005 teams competed in the 4A State Semi-Finals. Lineberger was recognized as the conference Coach of the Year for the 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2006 seasons and had 14 players move on to collegiate volleyball.

Lineberger served for eight years as Tournament Director of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) State Volleyball Championships at Reynold's Coliseum in Raleigh, NC. In 2007, the NCHSAA recognized her outstanding service to the association and high school volleyball across the state.

For the past 11 years, Lineberger served as the clinician for the Cary Parks and Recreation volleyball camps and skills sessions which hosted over 300 young players annually. Under Lineberger's direction, Peace College held its first summer volleyball camps for middle and high school players in August 2008.

Lineberger was born and raised in Greensboro, NC. She received a Bachelor of Science in both Biological Sciences and Science Education from North Carolina State University (NCSU). Lineberger was a recipient of the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship and proceeded to teach biology, anatomy, chemistry, and physical science while at Apex. She and her husband Brent own and operate two family businesses and reside in Apex with six-year-old Brayden and two-year-old Bella.

Stephanie Sports enters her first season this fall as the Assistant Volleyball Coach for the Pacers.  Sports extinguished her last season of eligibility with the Pacers last fall after playing two seasons for the Pitt Community College (PCC) Bulldogs.

During her brief tenure as a Pacer, she quickly established leadership and consistency as a libero and defensive specialist. Sports led the Pacers with 334 digs on the season and provided stability at the service line with 92% accuracy.  Sports earned the Coaches Award for these contributions as well as her leadership, commitment, and sacrifice to the team.

While at PCC, Sports also played softball for the Bulldogs.  She was named to the All-Academic Region Team and Dean’s list with Distinction holding a 3.80 grade point average for the season.  As a starter for the Bulldogs, Sports recorded a team and individual high of 33 digs in a single match her first season. During her second season, she was nationally ranked in the National Junior College Athletic Association for digs and aces. PCC was ranked 20th in the nation among junior colleges and finished undefeated in conference play at 20-0.

Sports coordinated the first-ever Cary Parks and Recreation Girls Volleyball League this summer and coached one of the participating teams.  She also led skills sessions at various volleyball camps with Head Coach Beverly Lineberger.

Sports was born and raised in Macedonia, SC.  In May 2008, she graduated magna cum laude and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Peace College.
